Preferences and Settings

Have you updated your Preferences and Settings lately? Preferences apply to your entire account, while a separate Settings page exists for each blog you own. It’s a good idea to keep both of these areas up-to-date with how you’d like to run your corner of the Tumblr world.

To get to Preferences, click the gear wheel icon in the top, right-hand area of your Dashboard or visit https://tumblr.com/preferences. This is where you can edit your email address, change your password, choose your post editor, and make changes to how your Dashboard displays things.

To get to Settings, click on a blog title at the top of your Dashboard or under the list icon at the top, right-hand corner of the Dashboard. Then click Blog Settings on the right side of the screen. Here you can change your portrait photo, blog URL, and custom domain, and you can find settings for Replies, Ask Submit, Facebook, Twitter, email posting, and more.
